Parliamentary Address on Strengthening Internal Security, Border Infrastructure, and CAPF Modernization
Honorable Speaker Sir, I stand before this august House to present a comprehensive report on the robust internal security measures, border management initiatives, and armed forces modernization undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the decisive guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. Our government has adopted an unyielding policy of Zero Tolerance against terrorism, insurgency, and cross-border criminal networks. Over the past decade, the security scenario across the nation—whether in Jammu and Kashmir, the North-Eastern states, or the Left-Wing Extremism affected districts—has undergone a historic positive transformation. In Jammu and Kashmir, following the landmark abrogation of Article 370, terrorist incidents have dropped by more than 70 percent, civilian casualties have drastically reduced, and the youth are actively joining mainstream economic activities, sports, and higher education. To safeguard our vast land borders spanning over 15,000 kilometers, the Ministry of Home Affairs has accelerated border infrastructure development. We have constructed modern floodlighting, smart fencing, and high-tech surveillance systems along the Western and Eastern borders. Under the Vibrant Villages Programme, we are transforming remote border villages into thriving development hubs, preventing migration and strengthening our primary defense line with the active participation of local communities. Furthermore, Sir, addressing the evolving threat of digital crimes is our top national priority. Through the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the national helpline number 1930, we have saved hundreds of crores of rupees belonging to innocent Indian citizens from cyber fraudsters. Over 5,000 cybercrime reporting portals and police stations across all states are now seamlessly integrated to track and neutralize digital criminals. The welfare of our brave Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel remains paramount. Through the Ayushman CAPF scheme, over 35 lakh healthcare cards have been issued to our jawans and their families, ensuring cashless medical coverage at top hospitals nationwide. We have also overhauled housing satisfaction rates for personnel stationed in tough terrain. India today stands as a confident, secure, and resilient nation. Under PM Modi's leadership, the Ministry of Home Affairs will leave no stone unturned to safeguard our motherland, protect every citizen, and fulfill the dream of a secure and prosperous Viksit Bharat by 2047. Thank you, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.
